Evans City Seeks Revitalization: Residents and Business Owners Called to Join Redevelopment Committee
August 23, 2024

The borough of Evans City is ushering in a wave of regeneration for its downtown area with the formation of a new Downtown Redevelopment Committee. Council member Rob Reppert is set to lead the initiative which aims to enlist the creative minds of residents and local business owners.

The committee will be tasked with generating innovative ideas to revamp the downtown scenery – from refreshing the street aesthetics by removing outdated bricks to enhancing the night-time ambiance with improved lighting. Another high-priority adjustment involves relocating unsightly overhead wires and implementing a sound system to possibly broadcast music or announcements during events, thereby contributing to the borough’s welcoming atmosphere.

The Evans City Council is calling on community-minded individuals to step forward and join the effort in shaping the town’s future. The committee plans to comprise council representation and 8-10 dedicated community members. Those interested in guiding the city’s redevelopment are encouraged to fill out a sign-up form below for both residents and business owners.
