Evans City Launches Yard Waste Recycling Initiative
April 16, 2024

Evans City introduced a new yard waste recycling service, designed to facilitate the responsible disposal of residents’ yard waste. This service will be available from April 16th to June 20th, 2024.

Residents can deposit a variety of yard waste items directly into the recycling truck behind the Evans City Public Works building at 220 Wahl Ave. This initiative allows for 24/7 drop-off during the specified period, providing flexibility for all community members.

Waste items that can be place in the truck:

  • Tree branches, up to 5 feet in length
  • Shrub and hedge trimmings
  • Leaves
  • Landscape plants

The following items will NOT be accepted:

  • Brown paper bags (including those from home improvement stores)
  • Plastic bags
  • Grass clippings
  • Bark mulch
  • Paper

Please note: The recycling truck will be monitored by a camera to ensure that only biodegradable items noted above are placed into it.

The borough encourages all residents to utilize this eco-friendly service. Whether you are engaging in routine garden maintenance or cleaning up after the storms, this recycling truck represents a valuable community resource.
